College Baseball Central Podcast: Recapping Week 3 Around College Baseball

On this episode of the College Baseball Central Podcast, Joe Healy and Scott Stone recap the third weekend of action around college baseball.

Scott hits leadoff on this episode, talking about what he saw at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic in Houston. Kentucky, with their dominant 3-0 showing, was clearly the most impressive team in the field, while Mississippi State also had a successful weekend of their own, finishing 3-0 as well. Scott has thoughts on those teams, as well as Vanderbilt, Louisiana, Sam Houston State, and Houston.

Joe follows with a discussion of what he saw at the DQ Baseball Classic at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Illinois, highlighted by fantastic defense all weekend, was the only team in the field to go 3-0, while UCLA had a quality 2-1 weekend headlined by the starting rotation trio of Jake Bird, Jon Olson, and Zach Pettway allowing three runs total in their starts. Washington, led by Joe DeMers, also had a solid 2-1 weekend. Joe discussed those teams, plus Minnesota, Michigan State, and Arizona.

From there, they discuss the newest top 25, which featured very little movement, including the first 14 teams staying in the same spot as last week. And the duo wraps up by taking a look at some of the best midweek games on the schedule this coming week.

Thanks for listening, everyone!
