On this episode of the College Baseball Central Podcast, Joe Healy and Scott Stone recap week 12 around college baseball and continue to look ahead to the postseason, which is now just a few weeks away, believe it or not.
They begin by taking a spin through the most recent edition of the top 25, which didn’t feature a ton of movement overall, but did feature several teams making big moves up the rankings, most notably Minnesota and Texas. Joe also gives insight into why Mississippi held their place as the number four team in the rankings despite losing their series to South Carolina.
From there, they talk about a handful of RPI notables, including Arizona’s yo-yoing up and down the RPI, Stetson’s hosting case, Minnesota’s surge, the glut of Big Ten teams hanging right around bubble range as far as the RPI is concerned, St. John’s sneaking into at-large range, and Florida Gulf Coast’s tumble down the RPI rankings.
The wrap it up by discussing a few of the best midweek games this week, including Kentucky visiting Indiana, South Florida taking on Florida, Tennessee Tech and their powerful offense matching up with Vanderbilt’s power arms, Jacksonville taking on in-state foe Florida State, and North Carolina paying a visit to Coastal Carolina.
Thanks for listening, everyone!
