College Baseball Central Podcast: Previewing Week 9 Around College Baseball

On this episode of the College Baseball Central Podcast, Joe Healy and Scott Stone preview week nine around college baseball.

They begin by discussing some of the most notable midweek results this week, including Texas A&M winning their rivalry game against Texas, Dallas Baptist capturing a key resume-building win over Texas Tech, Florida continuing their dominance over Florida State, and the importance of Chris McMahon returning to the mound for Miami.

Joe’s “nerd alert” pick of the week is the key Colonial Athletic Association series between Northeastern and College of Charleston. For the Huskies, this perhaps represents their last best chance to add a resume-building series win to go along with their already-impressive RPI. They’ll be looking for others on the mound to step up and support staff ace Sean Mellen. College of Charleston, similarly, is looking to add another quality series win to their at-large case.

Scott’s national series of the week is North Carolina and Virginia. If the Cavaliers are going to make a torrid late-season run to get into the postseason, it has to start now. Meanwhile, UNC, despite their ups and downs this seasons, finds itself right in the thick of the hosting race, so this is another opportunity to pad their resume and stay near the top of the ACC.

Thanks for listening, everyone!
