College Baseball Central Podcast: Previewing Week 12 Around College Baseball

On this episode of the College Baseball Central Podcast, Joe Healy and Scott Stone preview week 12 around college baseball.

They start things off by discussing a midweek slate that gave college baseball fans plenty to chew on, including the wacky midweek game between regional hopefuls Missouri and Iowa, the pivotal RPI game between Sam Houston State and Houston, Louisville’s much-needed win against Vanderbilt, UCF’s victory over in-state rival FAU, and Texas’ walk-off win over Texas State.

From there, Joe gives his “nerd alert” pick of the week, which is Illinois-Chicago visiting Wright State in a Horizon League showdown. The Raiders currently lead the league by 3.5 games over the Flames, so if UIC is going to catch WSU, they have to make their move soon. While Wright State has to be considered the favorite in this series, particularly since they are at home, Illinois-Chicago has the pitching to keep them in games throughout the weekend.

Finally, with a lack of a standout top series this weekend, Joe and Scott discuss a few different series instead of one national series of the week, including UCLA visiting Arizona, Coastal Carolina taking on Louisiana, Oklahoma State playing a cross-regional series against Iowa, a couple of huge Big Ten series with Indiana going to Minnesota and Ohio State going to Indiana, and Texas taking on Texas Tech.

Thanks for listening, everyone!
