College Baseball Central Podcast: Closing the Book on the 2018 Season

On this episode of the College Baseball Central Podcast, Joe Healy and Scott Stone put a bow on the 2018 college baseball season by touching on a variety of different topics.

They start by discussing some of the most recent coaching carousel news. The big news is the move from Indiana to Mississippi State for Chris Lemonis at the end of a coaching search that reminds Joe and Scott a little bit of the Texas coaching search two years ago. After missing out on some big targets in the beginning of the search, both programs landed on a solid hire. Texas is already reaping the benefits of David Pierce serving as their head coach, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see MSU doing the same in a couple of years. They also talk about Jeff Mercer filling the spot Lemonis left at Indiana, Indiana pitching coach Kyle Bunn moving to the same position at Middle Tennessee State, Mitch Gaspard moving to Georgia in a volunteer role, and Steve Holm taking over as the head coach at Illinois State.

From there, they discuss the 2018 season itself, including moments that seemed important at the time but ended up not being so important, moments that turned out to be every bit as important as they seemed at the time, and the lasting memories of the season.

Thanks for listening, everyone!
