Florida State Seminoles 2014 Baseball Schedule

Florida St Baseball When it comes to dominance in college baseball, there are few programs that can compare with that of the Florida State Seminoles.

The Seminoles will be entering their 65th season as the second most successful baseball program in Division I history behind Texas, boasting a .730 winning percentage and 2670 total wins, nearly two-thirds of which have come under the leadership of head coach Mike Martin.

Martin will lead the Seminoles on opening day for the 35th consecutive season, dating back to 1980. Under his helm, Florida State has never registered less than 45 wins in a single season and have made an impressive 14 trips to Omaha, despite having never sealed the deal on a national championship.

The Seminoles will commence their 55-game season at home with a three-game series against Niagara University at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee between February 14-16.

Despite the rather easy home opener, Florida State will have a difficult schedule that includes 30 conference games and match-ups against the likes of Clemson, NC State, North Carolina, and Virginia.

“I don’t think there is any question that this is one of our toughest schedules that we have had during my time at Florida State,” head coach Mike Martin said. “Anytime you are playing Miami and Georgia in a non-conference series, you have definitely improved your schedule. Over the years, we have been very proud of our strength of schedule.”

Nonetheless, the Seminoles will be poised to capture an eighth straight ACC Atlantic Division title and make a run at their first national championship in school history.
